  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 lb butter (2 sticks) unsalted, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 2/3 cups milk

Instructions

  • Close the waffle maker and heat it up well.
  • In a bowl whisk the flour with the baking powder.
  • In another bowl, add the eggs and whisk them with sugar, butter and milk. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and whisk.
  • Pour about 3 tbsp of batter into the middle of the waffle maker and close. Bake each waffle for about 3 minutes until it becomes golden-brown.

  • Serve with maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream or Nutella.

Notes

I used a heart shaped waffle maker.
Leftovers: Place waffles in an airtight container and store them in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
Freeze: Place each waffle between parchment paper. Place the stack of waffles in freezer bags and squeeze out as much air as possible. Place them in the freezer, they can last from 3 to 4 months.
