- 4 medium chicken breasts boneless and skinless
- 2 teaspoons cajun seasoning
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- ½ cup pepperoni slices
- 6 ounces mozzarella slices thinly sliced
Get your air fryer ready by preheating it to 400°F.
Using a small sharp knife, cut pockets/slits in the side of each chicken breasts, ¾ of the way in.
Season the outside of the chicken breasts with the cajun seasoning.
Stuff each chicken breast with ¼ cup of pizza sauce, pepperoni slices and about 1 to 2 mozzarella slices. You shouldn't have to use toothpicks to secure them but if you need to, do so.
Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Place the stuffed chicken breasts in the air fryer basket then spray them with a bit more cooking spray.
Put the basket into the air fryer and cook for 17 to 20 minutes. The internal temperature of the chicken needs to reach 165°F to ensure that it's cooked.
- Pat the chicken dry. Pat the chicken dry to remove any excess moisture before sprinkling it with cajun seasoning. This helps create a better texture when it’s air fried.
- Don't crowd your air fryer. The chicken breasts must be placed in the air fryer in a single layer to properly cook. So if you make more than 4 breasts you may need to cook them in batches.
- Temp the chicken. To ensure that chicken is fully cooked, use a digital instant-read thermometer to make sure that it has reached an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C).
