Pina Coladas are a total classic in the world of cocktails. They’re simple and tropical, the perfect marriage between pineapple, coconut, and of course – rum. Is it possible to have a bad day with one of these in hand? I think not!

Do you hear that? That my friend is the sound of the beach calling, all the way from the not so distant tropics. The waves lapping the shore, the far off chirps of birds, all that emanating from this frosty little glass of goodness.
I like to sip on this frosty drink when the sun is shining bright over head, is there anything that makes you feel quite so care free? So if you find yourself overdue for a good vacation, whip up one of these coladas and you’ll be out of here in no time!
What Is A Pina Colada?
This cocktail is an absolute classic and for good reason. Packed full of sweet pineapple, dreamy coconut cream, and tropical white rum. No matter where in the world you may find yourself, you’ll be on island time soon enough!

Ingredients
Detailed measurements and instructions can be found on the printable recipe card at the bottom of the page.
- Alcohol – We’re using white rum today, it’s got a light and clean flavor that is perfect for coladas.
- Fruit – We’re using both fresh pineapple and pineapple juice for this recipe.
- Coconut – We’re using coconut cream today, no not coconut milk, cream. We want it to be dreamy and creamy.
- Sugar – Just a bit of white sugar to keep that flavor sweet and clean, if you’re worried about your drink being too sweet, feel free to omit this ingredient.
- Ice – We want a nice slushy drink and ice is what we’re going to need to achieve this. If you’re worried about it being too hard on your blender you can omit this ingredient and use frozen pineapple chunks.
